Reflection on My Field Study Areas

Mariano Marcos State University - Laboratory High School & Ilocos Norte College of Arts and Trades

My field study experience at Mariano Marcos State University - Laboratory High School and Ilocos Norte College of Arts and Trades has been truly enlightening, giving me the chance to explore different aspects of teaching and learning. Each new encounter has had a meaningful impact on me, shaping how I view education.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned was the importance of creating a positive classroom environment. I came to realize just how much effort goes into making students feel safe, comfortable, and motivated to learn. Little things like the arrangement of the classroom and the teaching materials we use can really make a difference in keeping students engaged and focused.

I also gained a better understanding of how every student is unique. Observing their different learning styles, strengths, and challenges made me appreciate how crucial it is to adjust our teaching to meet each student's needs. It was incredible to see how small changes in approach could help them learn more effectively.

Another highlight of my experience was working alongside my resource teachers. Their patience, dedication, and passion for teaching inspired me in ways I hadn’t expected. Watching them navigate their classrooms with such ease and care taught me how important it is to stay open to learning and growing as a teacher.

This field study journey has taught me so much, deepening my passion for becoming the kind of teacher who truly supports and inspires students. I’m excited to take what I’ve learned and continue growing in this profession.
